Park City Mountain Resort

Park City Mountain Resort has been ranked one of the top ski resorts for families year after year.  Now that it has been combined with Canyons Village (under the Vail Resort umbrella) it is also the largest ski resort in the country.  The Quicksilver Gondola connects Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) to Canyons Village creating over 7,300 acres of skiable terrain to include over 341+ trails, 41 lifts, 8 terrain parks, 14 bowls, six half-pipes, one super-pipe and one mini-pipe. Approximately 8% of the trails are for beginners, with 41% for intermediate skiers, 28% advanced and 23% for experts.  Unlike Deer Valley Resort, snowboarders are allowed on the slopes here making it ideal for families mixed groups of skiers and snowboarders.  Under the umbrella of Vail Resorts, Canyons and Park City Mountain Resort utilize the Epic Pass which also provides access to many other ski resorts in the United States and other parts of the world.

PCMR sits adjacent to historic Old Town Park City.  With an easy walk or a quick bus or car drive to Old Town, residents and visitors can enjoy Main Street with its boutiques and unique shops, numerous art galleries, bars and restaurants to please everyone’s tastebuds from burgers and sushi to 5-star dining experiences.  In additional to the multitudes of restaurants and stores in the Park City area, Kimball Junction, which is approximately 4.5 miles away offers grocery stores, local and chain restaurants, local and chain stores, pet stores, a movie theater and much, much more.  The Utah Olympic Park, home of the 2002 Winter Olympics and many Grand Prix events is in this area, and you can visit the Olympic visitor’s center and take in a summer Olympic ski team practice or even a summer bobsled ride.  You will pass by the Outlet Mall on I-80 either on the way to or from the Salt Lake City International Airport which is about 33 miles (approximately 45 minutes) away.

There is a wide array of properties available in the Park City Mountain Resort area from small condos, Bed and Breakfasts, townhomes, luxury hotels and single-family homes.  As they say, location is everything, so due to that these properties can be pricey, but there are some moderate priced options, as well.  Many of the properties are ski-in/ski-out or at least very close proximity to the slopes.  There is a town bridge where skiers and snowboarders can ride directly from the ski resort to Old Town Main Street.  The Town chairlift provides return/uphill access from Main Street to the resort.
